It’s the first week of 2022, babes! I’m sure you are setting new goals for this new year. Setting yearly goals can be very daunting. I have a few tips for you to set your goals for this year and to help you crush them!

First, let’s go over some common mistakes made with goal setting.

  1. Thinking too small

  2. No chunking goals down

  3. Setting vague goals

  4. Not setting a deadline

  5. Setting extrinsic goals

  6. Not being confident

  7. Waiting too long to commit

  8. Not writing the goal and break down out

  9. Trying to control everything

  10. Neglecting self-care

Big Reminder!

A dream is written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dream come true!

When setting yearly goals here are a few tips and steps I go through each year.

  • Reflect on the past year. You must know where you are before you can move forward.

  • Let things go emotionally and physically. Take the time to declutter your mind and your space of anything that does not warrant your future success.

  • Create a vision board. This lets your creativity breakthrough and visualizes what you want in life.

  • Let fear guide you. Not scare you.

  • Set those yearly goals with the big-ticket items you want to achieve within the year.

  • Personally, I like to categorize my goals into what my core values are. Such as health, academic, personal, social, and work. This helps me later with breaking them down to a plan and with rethinking my habits.

  • Break those goals down to smaller achievements you could accomplish month by month basis.

  • Remember to set a deadline and reward!

  • Rethink your habits. Write out your habits that aren’t relevant to those goals and swap them out for habits that will lean to your success.

  • Start using a planner. A perfect way to organize tasks, events, and habits to reach said goals.

  • Review your goals constantly. Don’t get frustrated if the first plan breaks
down or the deadline doesn’t work, take a step back and rethink your strategy. Setting and achieving goals is not one-and-done. It is a constantly evolving process.

I hope these tips and insight help you reach your yearly goals, monthly goals, weekly goals, daily goals, and any goal in between! Let me know in the comments what is one goal you are looking to crush this year. I can’t wait to share mine with you all! Make sure to follow my social media accounts to see! Later, babes!
