April showers bring May flowers. We have all heard the saying countless times. As much as we need rain sometimes it puts a damper on the fun activities to do. Some people love it and others rather spend the day outside in the sun. Now if you’re like me I love a good stay inside all day while it rains. The rain can stop us from doing some things we want to do. But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a ton of fun rainy-day activities. Here are my Top Ten Rainy Day Activities!

Top Ten Rainy Day Activities

Curling Up with a Book

I know, this doesn’t sound like the funniest thing to do when you’re bored, but it’s my absolute favorite!

Spa Day at Home

It’s entirely up to you whether you invest in a treatment at a high-end spa or create your own at home. In any case, a self-care day will leave you feeling completely revitalized. Put on a moisturizing face mask and let the rain’s pitter-patter serve as your personal white noise machine. Give yourself a mani-pedi, and use that new bath bomb, the possibilities are endless.

Arts and Crafts at Home

Bring out your inner craftsman at home by doing some arts and crafts projects. You can set up your materials on a kitchen table and try out some things, like coloring or painting, doing a scrapbook, or anything!

Clean Out and Organize Your Home

It is surprisingly rewarding to be able to purge anything. Whether it be your closet, kid’s toy room, beauty products, or refreshing home decor.

Board Game Tournament

Stay in for the evening, get cozy in your jammies, and have a board game night marathon. There are different games for all ages. You can make it even more fun by adding prizes for the winner, like store gift cards, candies, or homemade trophies.

Movie or Show Marathon

One of the most enjoyable things to do on a rainy day is to watch some old and new movies. It’s perfectly acceptable to spend a whole day inside vegging out and watching movies. Keep the popcorn going and a cozy blanket nearby.

There are many things to enjoy about a trip to the local mall, whether it be window shopping, eating food, or even just people-watching. This is dangerous but, you may find some hidden gems that you realize you need or want.

Learn Something New

A rainy day is a perfect time to focus on a new skill or activity. Whether it’s cooking a new dish, learning a new language, knitting or crocheting, calligraphy, and more!

Visit a Museum

It is always interesting to learn something new about something, whether from a loved one or even the town you were born in. Museums let you travel back in time with their fascinating exhibits and discover their history, even if it’s just for a couple of hours.

Create a Blanket Fort

The classic living room fort that sparks the creative engineer inside us all. Bring back your inner child by building a blanket kingdom inside the house.

There are plenty of things to do on a rainy day to make it worthwhile. Instead of being cooped up at home scrolling through your phone. Why not make fun and create lasting memories with these my top ten rainy day activities, even when you are stuck indoors?
